WEEKEND SPORTS REVIEW…

This week sees major golf takes centre stage as TPC Harding Park hosts the US PGA in Sanfrancisco anddouble defending champion Brooks Koepka holds strong claim to land another title.

Koepka would be the first man since Walter Hagan to win three consecutive PGA Championships and will head the betting markets with ultra-consistent Justin Thomas.
Texan Jordan Speith is looking to complete the career grand slam of major titles but his form has seen a dip recently with missed cuts and no wins to his name since winning the Open over three years ago.
Rory Mcllroy has not won a major title in six years; you have to go back to Valhalla 2014 when he lifted his second US PGA title.
And you cannot discount the Tiger!!!….
With 15 major titles to his name, Woods is only three behind Nicklaus with a record of 18 major wins. After Woods’s shock comeback win at the last year’s Masters, there is still plenty of life in Tiger Woods and his game to serve it up to the top table.
Justin Thomas has just taken over the world number one spot from Spaniard Jon Rham after his victory last week in the WGC-FedEx St Jude and you would expect to see both Thomas and Rham in the hunt come the final round on Sunday.
Surely one of the best hopes from Europe will be Shane Lowry. The Irishman has hit good form coming into the first major of the year shooting four sub 70 rounds to finish 6th in last week’s WGC-FedEx St Jude.
Speaking to Sky Sports this week Lowry said “It’s just going to be a bit of a slog out there, but I’m looking forward to it because I like weeks like this. I think it’s mentally challenging. If I can get myself in a good frame of mind come tomorrow morning when I tee off, who knows what could happen?”
“I did play well last week, but I’m one I never really try and peak for a big tournament,” he added. “I just kind of warm-up and practice and prepare as best I can and see what it gives me on that given week.
It promises to be a great event with Major golf returning to our screens this week, and you can catch all the live coverage across all four days on SkySports from 6 pm.
Here are my best bets for this week’s US PGA…

JON RHAM … TOP 5 FINISH 3/1betfair
SHANE LOWRY… TOP 10 FINISH 6/1betfair

All the best!!!
