Royal Ascot Day One – BigFoot’s Tips

Royal Ascot Day One – BigFoot’s Tips

IT’S HERE!!

Finally Royal Ascot has arrived and as a nation looking for our spirits to be lifted there’s no better way than the return of live sporting action and this week Ascot will provide the best there is to offer in flat racing on a world stage.

WHAT BATTAASH ARRIVES TODAY?

The 5f speed merchant BATTAASH will look to take centre stage today in the feature race of day one, the KINGS STAND STAKES 3:35PM.
But you never know just what frame of mind he will be in. Yes, he has bags of speed and talent and has served it up on the top table many times but he has also shown how vunerable he can be, especially at Ascot, where in the past he has never lived up to hype but will the record change today?? To his advantage today, he does not have the crowd and hussle and bustle of a normal Royal Ascot, which is sure to work in his favour as this is a key factor to him blowing up in previous encounters.
Be aware we are due for showers by the time the KINGS STANDS gates fly open and we need to take into account the conditions to confirm what will already be on the slower side of good ground.

Yet another wide-open race in the Queen Anne Stakes but there is plenty of talent on show in this field. Circus Maximus looks sure to head the market for team A P O’Brien, the winner of the St James’s Palace looks sure to be a big player, but the selection TEREBELLUM ran on well ten days ago to land the Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket. She’s shown great versatility on varying ground conditions and although the four-year-old filly is unraced at a mile she does not lack pace.

Will he won’t he …that’s the question that will be on everyone’s mind with Battaash today and he probably won’t find a better opportunity with the likes of Blue Point and Mabbs Cross no longer taking to the track these days. The Kings Stand is the highlight of day one and no doubt this will not fail to deliver.
The K Ryan trained Glass Slippers and J Quinn trained LIBERTY BEACH both hold serious threats to Battaash and its the latter that offers great value in the betting and is taken to land the spoils after showing an excellent 2-year season progressing after her Listed success at Haydock last week and the drop to 5f won’t be a issue.

Raced over 2m this brings into play the National hunt trainers with the likes of Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls with entries Verdana Blue and San Benedeto respectively. DUBAWI FIFTY goes well fresh and proved he is a worthy selection after finishing 4th in this last year. The Mclintock trainer runner came so close to scoring in the Northumberland plate last year and although after that, his season tailed off the break would done him good and looking tuned up and ready to go today in the capable hands of Adam Kirby.
