Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle

Grade 1 | Registered As The Baring Bingham | GBB Race | Class 1 | 4YO plus

Winner £75,964

2m 5f

Last year’s Champion Bumper winner SIR GERHARD looks a class apart here, some questions will be asked based on his last run when not looking particularly polished when it came to his hurdles and will he see out the extended trip, THREE STRIPE LIFE reopposes, and it looks a tough task to reverse the placings. JOURNEY WITH ME needs to take a big step forward to win this for the De Bromhead team looks an exciting prospect and the recent Naas form has worked out well and looks best placed to serve it up to the Mullins trained Banker.

WIN VERDICT… SIR GERHARD 4/6

E/W VERDICT… JOURNEY WITH ME 7/1

Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase

Grade 1 | Registered As The Broadway Novices’ Chase | GBB Race | Class 1 | 5YO plus

Winner £98,472

3m 80y

A really strong renewal of this year’s Novice Chase, Since moving to Venetia Williams back in April of last year and winning a Novice Hurdle by 28 lengths L’HOMME PRESSE has not looked back recording five wins from six runs and none more so impressive at this track in the Paddy Power Novice Chase putting ten lengths between him and The Glancing Queen. BRAVESMANGAME is every inch a top-class staying chaser and will serve it up best to the Williams raider in a race where there looks plenty of pace on early so stamina will be key. One taken to outrun his odds is AHOY SENOR.

WIN VERDICT… L’HOMME PRESSE 7/2 (NAP)

E/W VERDICT…  AHOY SENOR 13/2

Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle

Grade 3 | GBB Race | Class 1 | 4YO plus

Winner £56,270

2m 5f

Wide-open Handicap Hurdle here, plenty in with chances but it’s worth siding with UNEXPECTED PARTY who has to come into the reckoning here for the Skelton’s, he does carry a 12lb burden for recent efforts but looks firmly on the upgrade and very strong traveler throughout his races. INDIGO BREEZE is part of a mob-handed team sent by Gordon Elliot for this one and at decent odds, the 6-year-old is expected to at least hit the frame, the lightly race grey will look to make use of his stamina stepping up in trip today.

WIN VERDICT… UNEXPECTED PARTY 12/1

E/W VERDICT… INDIGO BREEZE 16/1

Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase

Grade 1 | GBB Race | Class 1 | 5YO plus

Winner £225,080

1m 7f 199y

Part two of the duel we have been waiting for, back in January at Ascot this promised to be a battle of the best in the division and it certainly lived up to expectation and no doubt today will prove the same as ENERGUMENE and SHISHKIN lock horns once more with it all on the line to be crowned the Champion Chaser. SHISHKIN got the better of ENERGUMENE at Ascot and all point towards SHISHKIN making it 2-0. ENERGUMENE will look to make all from the front if opting the same tactics but SHISHKIN has stamina in abundance and the previous Supreme and Arkle winner’s experience has the chips firmly stacked in his favor. The fight for the places will be on and with Chacun Pour Soi doing his best work on home soil, and if they go hard upfront and that causes mistakes from SHISHKIN then a mention has to go to NUBE NEGRA who is more than capable of running a big race going well fresh, ENVOI ALLEN seems to have slipped under everyone’s radar, returning from a wind op and freshened up with a break and course and distance festival form firmly in the book and is unbeaten in all his races under two and a half miles, he can put last year’s fall at the festival behind him when banker material and outrun the ridiculous odds on offer. upfront

WIN VERDICT… SHISHKIN 1/1

E/W VERDICT… ENVOI ALLEN 18/1

Glenfarclas Chase

Cross Country Chase | GBB Race | Class 2 | 5YO plus

Winner £39,022

3m 6f 37y

All eyes will be on TIGER ROLL here as he looks to sign off in style with another Cross Country at his beloved Cheltenham, it would be a great way for connections to out in style as he will not be lining up in the Grand National, Tiger does come alive at this track and no one will begrudge him one last win but the odds look far too skinny for what he faces. Last year’s 2nd and winner of this two years ago EASYSLAND will look to better his poor prep runs for this and looks opposable, five-time Grade 1 winner DELTA WORK looks laid out for this and could prove a class above if taking well to the Cross Country track.

For the minor places, a chance is taken on DIESEL D’ALLIER who has been running well of late since his switch to Richard Bandey.

WIN VERDICT… DELTA WORK 7/1

E/W VERDICT… DIESEL D’ALLIER 14/1

Paying 5 places

Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup Handicap Chase

Grade 3 | GBB Race | Class 1 | 5YO plus

Winner £70,338

1m 7f 199y

Another huge difficult field to unpick here in a trappy event, towards the head of the market it may pay to side with AMARILLO SKY who bolted up by ten lengths in a small field at  Newbury last time out, he is raised 8lb for that effort but looks ahead of his mark and all the vibes have been good for the Colin Tizzard runner, No winner of this has gone back to back since 1959 so that stat does not look good for last year’s winner SKY PIRATE who carries top weight. Another at the head of the market that should not be overlooked is  ANDY DUFRESNE brings Irish graded form into this Handicap and looks sure to run a big race.

WIN VERDICT… AMARILLO SKY 8/1

E/W VERDICT… ANDY DUFRESNE 7/1

Weatherbys Champion Bumper

Standard Open NH Flat Race | Grade 1 | GBB Race | Class 1 | 4YO to 6YO

Winner £45,560

2m 87y

The closer on day two is for the flat runners in the bumper and the Irish have a strong stranglehold on this and you can make a case for all of them, Willie Mullins saddles 7 here and FACILE VEGA commands respect at the head of the market and REDEMPTION DAY who’s sole start was very impressive who powered clear of his nearest rival, JAMES GATE did the same at Punchestown by 8 lengths. If your looking for value at the top of the market then AMERICAN MIKE for Gordon Elliot may be the way to go here and there is no reason why he should not be competing for favoritism. HOULANBATORDECHAIS was picked up by the Ricci connections from France and is taken to outrun his big odds.

WIN VERDICT… AMERICAN MIKE 9/4

E/W VERDICT… HOULANBATORDECHAIS 16/1

Paying 5 places
